Inspect the entire length of the shoreline cord periodically for nicks, cuts and damage. Clean and brighten the metal contact points at least yearly. When you have a wood screw that will not tighten, the best way to handle it is to purchase a small box of wooden matches. Remove the screw from the wood and stick the wooden match into the hole and break it off even with the wood, then reinstall the screw and it will tighten. Pete Ritter Sun Valley, California
