Slideout removal ... Help

We purchased a 1993 36ft travel travel with a 12ft super slide. Got a good deal because there was water damage and the floor needs to be replaced. I need to remove the slide. I removed the horse shoe around the slde. What else do I need to do to get the slide to clear the floor edge. The slide is operated by a hydraulic cylinder. Are there stops on the two guide rails or does the cylinder bottom out preventing it from moving any further? If there are stops, will removing them allow the slide to clear the floor? I'm sure I will need to block up the floor for support but will the guide rails still remain in the guides? Thanks

No answer, sorry..but I have the exact same question. I have an 1994 Jayco fifth wheel. I have removed all visible stops, but travel stops dead as if there are internal stops

Hi..This is Treener again. I got my slide out removed. This is how I did it. It sounds like you have removed all stops on the inside. Mine has a in and out limiter..basically a length of all thread with double nuts and a washer to limit travel. Take the nuts off so the unit will go past. I ran the slide out till it stopped then brought it back in. By the way, your drive mechanism will only go so far..mine has a 30 inch travel..max.. Anyhow my drive tubes have a bolt in the end attached to a bracket to pull/push the slide out in/out. Take those bolts out. Also detach any electrical connections. Your slide out is free. Support the rails underneath..I used concrete blocks and shims to get the correct height at the outside of the slide AND at the inside cause the slid will want to tip in when it's outside the coach. You'll need help but just kind of wiggle and pull the slide till it's where you can work on it..CAREFULLY.. No farther than you need. Hope this helps.
