I would like to know which RVs get the best fuel economy, and if I buy a Class A motorhome how many miles to the gallon can I expect?
I would like to compare the fuel economy of the different RVs that are available.

We’ve had several Class A’s over the years that ranged in size from 34’ to 40’, both gas and diesel. We always towed a car behind the motorhome. Our fuel mileage varied from 5 mpg to 9 mpg. Keep in mind that there are a lot of factors that affect fuel mileage.
Quick acceleration and heavy braking, Excessive idling, Driving at higher speeds increases aerodynamic drag (wind resistance), Items on the roof of your RV increase aerodynamic drag and lower fuel economy, Towing a vehicle or carrying excessive weight, Running the engine mounted air conditioner or a built in generator and Driving on hilly or mountainous terrain can reduce fuel economy.
Your fuel mileage will still vary from what is published ~ I hope this helps ~ Giovanni

I have a 2007 Tuscany Motor Home 40' long and tow a 2007 GMC acaida SUV and am averaging 8.5 MPG of diesel. I was told I would get 10 to 12 MPG. I have 6200 miles on this unit. As stated below from bqkentucky your milage will vary. I am told as I get more miles on my unit the MPG will improve.
