I will be towing a 2008 Jayco Sport 197 with my 2005 Chevy Uplander LS.
I purchased a Hensley hitch for added safty. Is anyone else doing something similar as I am close to my max tow weight with just the dry weight. The GVWR would be more then what is rated for my vehicle. Any points from those experienced would be greatly appriciated.

142 Geo,
My Daddy always told me “never to put the cart before the horse.”
What he meant was [for us RVers] that we should go out and buy what ever travel trailer or 5th wheel that meets our lifestyle dreams and desires and THEN go out and buy the vehicle that is rated and equipped to pull it!
You’re not doing your 2005 Chevy Uplander LS any favors by asking it to do what it is not rated to do, not to mention the safety issue. You and I both know that unless you pull it empty without any toys and necessities you will be over your tow rating.
Maybe it’s time to trade that Chevy in on a new one, one that has the proper tow rating. I saw somewhere in one of the Camping World Catalogs a discount coupon if you bought a Chevrolet.
Hopes this helps…
Giovanni
