MYHELIGUY: Giovanni, yes i read the article, thanks. question,in the article it says he made a curve in the rafters, my roof is flat,i thought it would be just sheets of plywood in between some steel beams with the sheet metal on top of that, then the roof coating.do all roofs have a curve ? i thought motorhomes had a steel beams like a roll cage going around them ? i haven't started my roof yet,so i'm not sure about this. my is a 1978 champion class a ,i have fortune in it so i must do.i appreciate help.

Not all RV roofs have a curve; the earlier ones were mostly flat. Curved roofs have been used in the last several years to assist the water to run off of the roof. If you decide to go with a flat roof I would suggest that you cover it with a seamless sheet of rubber made by Dicor (EPDM). Dicor has an excellent Website with lots of detailed information on care and maintenance. Curved roof models can also have a thin sheet of continuous fiberglass as the roof covering. Both methods cleverly cover the most important edge of any RV where leaking is most likely to occur - where the walls meet the roof.
